Keeping your treasured memories precious

Rutland Productions specialises in helping you to keep your treasured memories intact.

Rutland Productions has transferred hundreds of thousands of feet of cine film

Bruce Rutland founded Rutland Productions back in 2005, after gaining many years of experience working within the creative design sector during the 1980s and 1990s. Bruce noticed a gap in the market for a good quality cine film and video media conversion service when he wished to convert his own family archive of cine films and videos. He used his creative experience and design background to set up his own transfer company, Rutland Productions.

Today, thanks to the investment in high-end Flashscan film scanning equipment. Rutland Productions is fully equipped to transfer Standard 8mm, Super 8mm, 9.5mm and 16mm cine films to HD digital, DVD or Blu-Ray disk. Videos can also be transferred to HD digital and DVD, from VHS and Betamax, to Hi-8mm and Mini-DV. Rutland Productions can also scan 35mm slides to a high definition. Clients are always amazed by the outstanding results achieved.

While old-style cine film was once the movie-viewing medium of choice, today, cine has of course been superseded by higher quality, more user-friendly offerings such as HD digital, DVD and Blu-ray. However, many of us still have old cine films in their original format, with no means of watching them or preserving their content in perpetuity. This is where Rutland Productions can help.

We use a high-quality “Flashscan” transfer process that produces a much higher finished copy of your original film when compared to the traditional projection-based method, before editing your footage in accordance with your requests using Adobe Premiere Pro software to clean up and preserve your original memories for future viewing. This means that we can breathe new life into your old 8mm, 9.5mm or 16mm cine films, videos or 35mm slides, improving the viewing quality significantly and tackling problems such as a grainy picture or flaws in playback.

Why choose Rutland Productions?

With over 35 years of experience in the industry, we truly believe that we are the best at what we do, and we pride ourselves on offering an in-house service with the personal touch. All our projects are undertaken in-house, and we do not outsource your cine films or videos for transfer to third parties or other businesses. Our method eliminates the standard trademark ‘flicker’ that occurs when copying cine film directly from a cine projector. We carry out all our transfers in-house using top-of-the-range computer systems and software and do not out-source to a third party.

For our 35mm slide service we scan your images at a high resolution on our Epson flatbed scanning machine and if necessary, retouch them to breathe new life into those old memories. We will scan all your slides at an HD resolution of 3,200 DPI.

Your job will be handled with the utmost care throughout the transfer process. On completion, all the original 8mm cine film, 16mm cine film, 9.5mm cine film, video or 35mm slides along with the finished HD digital files (1080HD AVIs & MP4s), DVD or Blu-Ray production are returned by registered post (or courier if the destination is overseas).
